I have to tell you about my youngest little lady, Ruby(or roo, rhubard, bea, milly moo), you see, she has this little obsession, it started when she was a tiny baby, and has continued with her....Blankie....
How the above photo was achieved, i have no idea, blankie(or colourdie as this one is called)rarely, if ever, leaves her side, she also sucks the 2 middle fingers of her left hand, so the first photo is how you'll see her most of the time. Over the last four years shes had many blankies, each one lovingly crocheted by one of her nannas, ive also bought them whenever ive spotted them at WI Sales, boot sales, and in charity shops, we have to have back up blankies in case of accidental loss, so we've amassed quite a collection, these are just a few, we have another laundry bag on the back of their bedroom door stuffed full of them, big ones small ones, we could open our own shop!...
Whenever the girls go to Nanny Marinas, they head straight for her knitting bag down the side of the sofa, and nab the ones shes started, i believe shes been trying to make knew ones for her carravan holiday this summer, but somehow the girls persuade her to cast off there and then so they can take them home to add to the collection!

Unfortunately most of the ones she makes are usually, shall we say, not to my taste, but they're fine blankets for the dollies!...here are the latest two they nabbed last weekend...
....Colourdie goes everywhere with her, pre-school, tesco, IKEA!In case you were wondering, Poppy's not immune to a little 'blankie love', oh no, she has this stinky specimen at bed times she loves it....
And this one was a favourite for a long time....
I do have a dilemma approacing, Roo and i have agreed that as from her 4th birthday this year, she will leave blankie at home, in preparation for big school later in the year, but someohow i worry shes not going to be my baby without it...sad i know....so, March 25th 2009 can take as long as it like to roll around.....

Awww your girlies are lovely! Good taste in comfort blankets too, a nice crochet one is lovely.
My youngest has to have a "gagee" (muslin) with her at all times. Luckily we have loads because they are always getting dragged on the ground or getting lunch on them etc.
My big one has Octy, a soft octopus that she absolutely loves and it has to go to preschool with her and sleep with her etc. She will only have Octy and it's a nightmare getting him away from her to wash etc! I didn't even think about the school thing so I must think about that too.

What beautiful girls you all are!! My niece had a blankie, in the end my sis in law cut it down bit by bit so she ended up with just a small piece she kept either in her hand or pocket, Mason sucks his thumb which obviously cant be cut down :)!! Claire xx
What pretty little angels you have, I never had a blankie when I was little, but I did have a dodie. My Dummy till I was about 4 or 5. :o) xxxx
Hello - your babies are beautiful! Both of mine attached themselves to IKEA baby cloths - you used to get 10 in a pack, I've used them for allsorts - The 8 year old dropped his off quite soon after losing the dummy, but Little Miss still has 2 or 3 in bed at night & they get brought downstairs if she is feeling tired or unwell - who needs a thermometer?!
I don't want them to grow up to quickly either!
Love Lydia xx
My eldest had 'baby cover' a full sized cot quilt that he took everywhere!! (Along with Valerie the teddy.) My youngest had 'nappy' a terry square nappy that he did not for some reason associate with the identical ones he wore on his bum!! It was an ideal thing though as I could give him a freshly laundered one everyday and he never realised it wasn't the same beloved 'nappy'
. Luckily they both grew out of them just before starting school. (They're 28 and 22 now and wouldn't appreciate me sharing this!!)Lol.

Super cute!
How cute :)
My little two year old boy, has taken a liking to one of my pretty floral scarves and seems to want to cuddle up with it and play with its tassles, I love watching him sleep with florals :)

Take care.

Your photos made me nearly cry! they are so sweet, my eldest who is six still loves her blanket called cuckoo for reasons unknown to us! Lisax
oooo such cuteness!
I have a confession. I did the same thing when I was little too, except my blanket was a knitted toy and cat and I sucked my thumb. I remember sneeking 'pussy and percy' into my coat pocket once to school and then being worried they might get lost.
I still have them, they are old smelly bits of wool but I have to say one of my most precious posessions...and they still make me feel comforted and I'm 35!
Just keep the blankets safe - she will still be your little baby!!
Love sam xx
I don't know how I missed this post - so cute and lovely photos :)
I have a bit of a cheeky question to ask about the Bicester CK shop as my brother is going next week and I have asked him to get me a few bits but I was wondering what prints they had in store? So I can guide him in the right direction lol! XX
Oh, meant to say, I know you took lots of photos when you went but I cant enlarge them when I click on it so can't really see. Thankyou XXX
