New CK Store!

Ive been keeping a little online list for a little while, mainly cath goodies, a few things i want to look out for when baby comes, depending on whether 'its' a he or she plus a few other bits and bobs.

I very recently found out from a friend of a friend who is a manager at a local CK shop that a new store was opening near me!

And, not just any CK store, oh no, this one is an outlet store, and you know what that means? Bargains!

The new store is in nearby Portsmouth, at a complex called Gunwharf Quays(click here for more info) They have 95 designer outlet stores there, plus loads of lovely restaurants, bowling, comedy club etc etc. Plus, its right on portsmouth harbour, so in the summer its lovely to relax with a glass of something naughty and chill out for the day.

I digress, i was shocked surprised and just a teensy bit excited when i got news of the new store..and started planning my day out this saturday at the complex, based around the opening time, and called CK HQ a few times to be sure of the opening date and also monitored the website for days.

Then- the unbelieveable happened...

I am 'friends' with Stanley Kidston on facebook and was stunned to log on on thursday(yesterday) and be confronted by a post by them, with photos, of the new store which opened on Thursday...thats right THURSDAY!!!
I felt my heart rate speed up, and reminded myself to think of the baby-all the stress was just not going to do me any good.

Well i promptly left a comment on one of the photos of inside the store and told them how disappointed i was to receive this distressing and alarming news...!
They replied quickly with 'dont worry Kirsty, our official opening is this saturday so you wont miss out' But, but, what the?!! DONT THEY UNDERSTAND?!?

So, i shall be heading down first thing tomorrow morning, elbows at the ready-bump clearly on display on a way which gives the mesage 'im pregnant and delicate-do not get in my way'.
D'u think it'll work?

First on my list, towels, or maybe just 'a' towel for my new bathroom..
Next, pillowcases, you see the maternity hospital in my area has a serious pillow shortage(i kid you not, for watchers of one born every minute-thats my hospital-The Princess Anne) and you have to take your own in when you go into labour. So that they then dont get muddled they ask you to make sure you have brightly coloured pillowcases.-Brightly coloured, hmph, Mine will be CK or nothing i tell you!
These are what my heart yearns for but ebay prices for the very same are slightly mental so, im hoping CKoutlet will come through for me.

And, oven gloves, Mr P(!!!!!!!!!!) left mine on the toaster, they were in the print of the bedding above and ive had them for years, i was reeeeallly mad about it, but now at least i have a good excuse to buy new ones!

So, i guess you might like to see a few photos i 'borrowed' from facebook-stanley kidston et al-of the new store i shall be frequenting regularly like a woman possessed from now on?

Baby stuff-check!

Oven gloves-check!

Towels-check!
Now i just have to sniff out the pillowcases.

If anyone sees anything they've been hankering over in the photos and you'd like me to pick it up for you i shall gladly do that and get them to wrap it prettily and you can just pay me the postage...i did this the last time i went to the CK outlet a Bicster in Oxford, and it was great fun.

Oh and some news on the baby front for those who are interested, i saw the midwife this week when i was 27 weeks plus 2 days and she told me im(baby) measuring 33 weeks...shocked-YOU BET...so i shall go back in 3 weeks to be measured again, looks like my dream 3rd homebirth is unlikely now though...cross your fingers for me girls xoxox

Most wanted!

Its official, i hate January. It is damp, depressing and dreary, add to that the fact that no one has any money left from the Christmas blow-out and it doesn't leave one with a great deal of excitement for the new year ahead!
So, what would cheer us all up-how about a little bit of CK?
Ive put a few of my favourite bits together-i already have the mug, its so sweet-i had to have it as soon as i saw it-which was in a garden centre of all places! It wasn't even in the CK store yet!
Id love to know what you've got your eye on?

Love Kirsty

Im in Love...

....With a table!
I absolutely love this table, its exactly what im looking for to go in my hallway. The colour is beautiful and its the perfect size to sit in the space under the stairs...now i just need to find one!(no idea where i nabbed this photo from!)

The same style of lovely hand painted furniture as this is available here if you'd like some inspiration!

Speaking of my hallway-not the most exciting space in the house but i think even a small space should make you smile when you walk through it.

With that in mind ive now finally selected some wallpaper after months of having samples hanging up.
My inspiration has has partly come from the photo on the right, its Cath Kidston Mono Rose and ive chosen it in the blue. The hall is quite dingy so i hope it'll brighten it up. I found it really hard locating any images of her wallpapers actually 'up' so to speak. This one, along with a range of beautiful furniture can be found here.
(And if anyone else knows of any more images apart from Yvestown blog id be grateful!)
Im hoping our carpenter will soon be in as well, as part of the hall 'transformation' we are having the hideous bannister replaced with spindles.Which should make it feel bigger and more open.
I'll also make a new door curtain and try to get Mr P to knock me up a radiator cover at some point this year!
Thats all for now folks, hope you're not reading this and are actually out enjoying the sunshine!!!
.....I'll be back tonight with a hint of 'fluffiness'...ha, exciting stuff!.....

winchesters delights! NEWSFLASH

OH. MY. GOODNESS..., can anyone guess where i'll be heading to tomorrow morning??
News just in, that the new CK shop in Winchester is opening at 9am tomorrow morning!!!!
So, after the school run, Cath here i come! I have a little birthday money so no doubt i'l find SOMEthing to spend it on.. Ive also been informed that they're having an official opening party on saturday-think i'll be abe to sneak in?!.I'll be making sure my camera battery is fully charged this evening so hopefully i'll be able to get a few snapshots for you all to indulge in depending on how busy it is, if any fellow bloggers spot me in the shop please say 'hi'... do you think i'll sleep tonight??? Im hoping to have a quick scoot round tomorrow then plan a lovely day in the near future incorporating some lovely blogging friends, chatter, coffee and more CK!
So, thats the most exciting news out of the way, but also its only 3 days to go until winchesters very own 'vintage and handmade fair' this sunday to be held in the guildhall.
Im really hoping that its going to be as good as the chipping sodbury one but, sadly im not sure it can live up to the heady delights of The vintage magpie et al...we shall see. Now i must go, sorry this is short and sweet but this little snippet of happiness has me in a spin, i must go and chill out! xxx

New Cath Kidston goodies!

Hi all, glad you could pop by to see me, hopefully you're all sheltering from this horrendous weather we've been having this week.
Ive been desperate to show you my purchases from saturdays trip to the outlet shopping village-Bicester in oxfordshire but rubbish pooter has thwarted my efforts thus far!
Now, my main aim was really just to target Cath Kidston, but mum and i had a lovely day(including a pub lunch!)-she fancied a pair of Jimmy Choos but at 2500 pounds we thought perhaps not so she just ended up with a stanly purse in CK!

We took lots of sneaky pics in CK,, it was quite busy so we thought it quite unlikely they'd actually agree to us taking them! It was a lovely shop, quite big, and beautifully laid out, inspirationally bright. I COULD NOT believe how cheap it was, seriously i couldve bought the whole shop. Hopefully you can see the images in my mosiac okay(?)...
Before we set off i didnt have a set idea of what i wanted so i mooched around for an hour or so and heres what i selected..

I just had to have this wallet, for 12 pounds i couldnt leave it there could i?...and it matches my new ck paisley bag...

A little wash mitt for just two pounds, how cheap?

Two fabulous little make up bags(below),and another tea towel(above) to add to the 'do not use under any circumstances'pile, again LOVE the prints...
A new set of oven gloves as my old CK ones are a bit passed it now...

And very useful little nail kit in the adorable grey bird oilcloth...

You may have also noticed a little red spotty package, in it, is the blue ottoman rose apron i selected for melmel, she got her order in quick when i told her i was going, im sure we'll be visiting again, probably in the easter hols so i'll let you all know in case you need anything next time!
I also picked up the green checked box-which the flowers are on top of in the second photo, i needed it for all of my letter writing 'stuff' and it was only two pounds.
All in all a great little lot of goodies i think, i could have bought more but there was nothing else i really wanted, so i thought i'll wait a while until there is something specific on my 'wants and needs' list, and get it then as i'll appreciate it more.
So now i can happily revel in the new bits of CK dotted around the house/in my bag, for a few more weeks, i wonder what'll be next on my list???......

Bags!!!!

So, new catalogue is out, i have a good daily swooning sesh-and the above beauties are all on my wanted list. I LOVE them, arent they just the epitome of gorgeousness?!!...Its not my birthday until June so i wouldnt be able to have one until them, running the risk of there being a change in stock between now and then, which we know is highly possible!!!...
Anyway, maybe i shouldnt be such a greedy guts considering my mummy only just recently treated me to the red one below which i really do adore...but hey, a girl can dream...
This is my current collecting of CK bags, not huge but each one is very much loved and treasured, i also have nearly all the tesco CK bags which i always keep in the car boot.

Here is where the CK love really started for me, with my very first catalogue, i love the photo on the front cover, i think i must have been about 18 at the time?.....then my collection just grew...

Not the best photograph i know, but i keep all my CK catalogues as they're so inspirational. My girls already ask me to keep items of clothing and bags for them for 'when theyre older' so im sure they'll love these if they're into the chintz too!

Out of stock!

Can anyone shed any light on why it is such pretties are displayed on the website, yet when you try to buy them they're out of stock?!! Its soooo frustrating, im totally in love with the red paisley, but dont have so much as a coin purse in this print-not quick enough off the mark obviously. I dont require a huge sewing basket for thirty eight pounds and i dont knit-so dont need the knitting bag either...We all know that CK change stock regularly but why?!....i know i know, there are always new things for us to fall in love with but i wanted something in this print and now i'll have to pay silly ebay prices. There isnt a shop for miles around so that isnt even an option for me, i know Gem got the book bag just a short whle ago for just six tiny pounds directly from the shop! Im crossing my arms and stamping my feet in protest, are you with me fellow bloggers? x
