Thank you x

Firstly i obviously need to say a huge thank you to all of you lovely girls who've taken the time to restore my faith in blogging. I cant believe how many lovely, sweet comments and emails ive received this week!
Im pleased to say i will continue with my ramblings, and if there is anything you would like to read more about, just let me know! I know we're all guilty of reading and running sometimes(me-alot of the time!) but its been really reassuring to know you're with me!

So, firstly i have to show you what i got for mothers day! The girls and i were up at 6.30am as i needed to do another boot sale to rid the house of a bit more clutter, the girls and daddy firstly called me into the bedroom and presented me with a beautiful card....i then had to wait there while my gift was wheeled into the lounge and i was instructed to close my eyes until the TA DA! Moment!...Well, you can see what i received below!......

A new wheelbarrow! And not only that, a PINK wheelbarrow!
Now, you might scoff at the idea of a wheelbarrow as a mothers day gift, akin to receiving a washing up bowl for some women, but this was actually something i needed.wanted!

For the last three years ive been using a holey, rusty barrow with a flat tyre.
And when you consider how much use i get out of one-it takes my laundry from the utility to the line, my shopping bags from the car to the house, my logs from the pile in the field to the back door in winter, i couldnt live without one!

A new barrow was even on my birthday list this year, but i didn't know you could get pink ones!
Mr P really pulled it out of the bag this year...thanks baby x

Sunday was a really special day. After the car boot(made another £45) my mum brought my brother over and i cooked a huge lasagne with salad coleslaw, garlic bread, salad etc for us all. Mums favourite! Mr P even came home from work at around 5pm to share the day with us. He then spent the rest of the evening mowing the lawn-the girls had THE best time left to learn how to ride the mower themselves, lots of videos were made to show them when they're older.(for the safety conscious among you the cutting blade was disabled when they dove it and it was kept in the lwest gear-slowest speed possible, and Mr P was in the garden the whole time!)

After we'd eaten, something special happened, there was a light shower of rain, then bright skies....and right outside our lounge window, the most beautiful rainbow came out, ive never ever seen the start and end of a rainbow-both of which were in our field, it was truly a sight to behold...i guess growing up on a housing estate was why id never seen the start or end of one before? It must of always been hidden behind a house!(im not sure the photos show this but honestly, you could see the ends of it!)
Not only was there one stunning rainbow, as the sun got stronger ANOTHER one came out above it!

It was a perfect mothers day. I cant believe this time next year i'll be a mother of 3!!!!!!!

So this week is a hectic one, the kids break up for easter on friday, 17 days off, then 3 days back at school, then 4 more days off...i didn't plan this baby very well did i? I'll be 37 weeks pregnant on friday(only 3 left) and im dreading the holidays to be honest!
Im trying to make the most of every child free day, and yesterday i headed off to IKEA to get a few things for the baby and the house but they didn't have half of what i wanted so of course i ended up buying some crap i didn't need instead!
This lustworthy item called to me, but i think it was about £18 so i resisted!!!
Really don't need another blanket but this one was so lovely with its pretty fluted edges.
They also had it in blue and green if you want to grab yourself one!

But here's a shot of some goodies which did come home with me.

(Ive just noticed this is a distinctly 'Pink' post!)
The daffs were bought at the car boot sale on sunday, a pound a bunch, i bought two but the lady gave me 3, how kind? They're the big double fluffy ones, cant wait for them all to come out.
(...I took this photograph at about 7pm yesterday evening, look at the light, low sun, gently lighting the house, beautiful)

Onto the goodies. The CK memo block was a gift bought by my step mum who i spent the day with on friday, we had our mothers day then as she was working on sunday. She treated me to it from Johm Lewis, we headed there to stock up on baby essentials(i think i have everything now).

The pink spotty candles, pink glass candles and strange white towel things you see there were all IKEA.

When i saw these candles i got SO EXCITED, i wanted to bundle the whole display full of them into my trolley and run for the exit door!!!!!!

I mean look , stunning CKesque pink glass candles, which smell AMAZING, and polka dot candles-how often do you find these?!
The polka dot ones were also available in baby blue and yellow(i think)...Perfect for easter!
Ive now rearranged my mantle piece to incorporate the new pretties...

Do you love these as much as i do?!...

Here is a close up on the name of the scented candles if you want to look them up.
I think they'd make beautiful presents...

I also saw a new design of duvet cover in there. It was white with pretty rose buds all over and was so soft, almost flanelette like, you can view it Here @ the IKEA website, but it doesnt do it justice! They only had one single one left so i think its going to be a really popular design.
They also had LOADS of rosali duvet covers in my local store(southampton), i cant believe we all went so mental over them a few years ago and now they're so readily available!!!

The little white towels you see there were bought as ive been hunting for some terry towelling nappies to use as burp cloths, but so far had no luck(or they've been reeeallly expensive!) these were the perfect size and only 40p each in ikea! I was really lucky to spot them i think!

On Monday of this week i had to go to work (this saturday is my last shift-cant wait!), on Tuesday i caught up on housework, today, a final boot sale will be done with the last of the items ive sorted(its currently 4am and i cant sleep!).
On Thursday im going on a post pregnancy clothes shopping trip to primark-for essentials of course! And a little visit to CK in winchester...and on Friday im having my hair done...crikey, the weeks are whizzing by!

Thank you all for checking in with me.....
Hope you are all well today?
Love Kirsty xoxo

My weekend.

Good morning all, ok so lets get the weather chat out of the way first, its blimmin muggy here, no sun, just cloud and heat....reeeally want to get out into the garden and plant my new plants but i dont think the girls would thank me for turning up at school stinking of sweat and cow dung(our soil is poor so i have lots to dig in)...im indoors doing housework with Phil and Fern for company.

I ventured out to my usual winchester bootsale on sunday and got a few goodies...

The big red trash can was four pounds, i think i'll use it as my recycling bin in the back porch. The round basket was three pounds, as was the big square one, thats for this kids toys upstairs. Picked up another crochet blanket for a pound, i know i know we dont need any more but i couldnt help myself! I got a few plants, a stunning fuscia coloured dhallia, another lupin, and a Borage plant-which will hopefull look something like this soon:
Also got a couple of metal coffee tins which i'll use in my porch, im ammasing quite a collection on my shelves out there. Also got a fabulously scented candle, brand new for 50p. Plus two thomas the tank plates for Archie and a brand new set of clippers for 50p, i gave murphy a good clip and he's looking much neater now!

And, dont you just love the old green cooking pots? Nana mandy enquied and was told they were five pounds for the set, a bit pricey, so when i went past later i asked again, whaddya know?, down to a pound each! So nana i will be sharing them with you as you loved them so much, can i have the largest one and you have the other two??

My mum recently picked up this beautful addition to the girls special shelf...can you see who i mean?,,,
This beautiful hand knitted teddy, shes so sweet!

This single duvet cover and two pillow cases for Poppy's bed was only 2.50, its so pretty.

I adore this stitched rose picture, its another heavy one so it will have to wait a while to find its place on the wall with the others.

This transfer was purchased for pure nostalgia, i had the same one on my cot as a baby, 20 pence!

I bought myself this cute beach bag for 50p....

Mum also picked this cross stitch up for me, three little mice at the beach-cute!

This country living book set me back a pound, its ten years old but the images in it are timeless, i nearly didnt get it, i dismissed it for being too old fashioned but its not. I'll share a few of my favourite images when i can.

More nostalgia, this time in the form of a Denby coffee pot, my parents had this set when i was little, for 50p, i couldnt leave it there.

Picked up two pyrex june rose caserole dises and three plates, my collection is slowly building!

This is a very old custard jug, another great find by my mum!

I bought this tin from an elderly couple who were selling off their parents possessions, they had so many old things on their stall i could have bought lots, i got an old plastic womble toothbrush holder, and a co-op darning mushroom as well as the tin, the girl on it looks a bit evil in this photo but its nicer in real life i promise!

One of my star buys has to be another stanley, hes about 20cm's tall, i paid three pounds which is more than id usually hand over but i fell in love!

Mandy bought me this brooch for 20p, its definitely hand made, ive tried googling the name and number on the card and it seems to be someone in ireland.

This great utensilis pot was 50p...

Coffee pot, one pound, little dish a boot sale gift from mum...

I have plans for this next basket, it was four pounds as its huge, and quite robust. I want to spray it green and line it with olicloth a la cath kidston....wish me luck.

This little doggy was given to poppy at the bootsale for nothing, she loves him.

Sunday afternoon wasnt very productive, Mr P and i spent a while at the in laws farm, they're getting the pool ready, it hasnt been used for a few years so needs a bit of sprucing up, i dangled my legs in and drank shandy, heaven! You should be able to spot something in the background of the photo below...

I took my new basket along as Mr P senior has been nagging me to help myself to the veggie garden now that it has lots to offer ...

I collected Broad beans, Peas carrots and the most amazingly scented sweet peas. I must photograph the veg patch for thse of you who like that sort of thing its looking fantastic!
Now, which vase to put them in??....

So, i did have quite a nice weekend, peaceful.M P took me to the cinema to see the new Transformers movie on sunday night, it was brilliant, a must see.

Moving on, i almost forgot to tell you, im now perfecting my tractor(digger/fork lift) driving weekly, this is me rolling, a couple of weeks ago in Mr P's John Deere 6620. This field is being turned into an orchard so it needed to be pretty perfect! He didnt tell me this until afterwards, a good thing really as i would have been more nervous, we dont want to loose customers!

I drove it quite a long way, from the yard, through the town of Romsey, to a village called Michelmarsh.
I know i look grumpy(and round faced but we wont mention that)but really im just concentrating reeally hard. Driving a tractor like this isnt hard work, but its totally different to anything you could possibly have ever driven, like driving a huge plate of jelly, you have to fight all urges to control it as you would a car. Saying that- i quite like it-you feel kinda powerful driving this massive machine alongside cars..............

My friends are dragging me out this evening to a ladies night at our local pub for a meal to raise money for pre-school, im looking forward to it.
Oh, before i go, thank you all so so much for your well wishes since my previous post, they mean more than i can say... xxxxxx

Todays bootsale beauties!

Todays bootsale beauties...
Even though we had to get up extra early due to the silly clocks, it was lovely and sunny and we had a great mooch round, i was really pleased with everything i got. In the photo above you can see a couple of things i bought for the girls room, the little pink wire heart is for them to put their little cards and photos on and the wooden shelf thingy will be painted white ready for their little tresures to be added to it.

Dont you just LOVE the red spotty enamel tin?! I wont bore you with prices for everything but i didnt pay more than two pounds for an item and that was for the redoute rose print which is in such lovely condition i didnt even barter!
The marble set is for Poppy, as she loves them, it has the instruction sheet inside for different marbley games.

Above is a very old little set of matches, i just love the little jazz playing men round the sides...

I was so inspired by jaynes lovely new black tin that it was on my lookout list-i was thrilled to find this one covered in spring flowers!

And this is my new kindling bucket-i would use it as a coal skuttle, only i dont wanna ruin it!!!
Also fell in love with this little apron, soo sweet.

Yet another redoute rose print for poppy's floral wall.
And yes, i found CATH KIDSTON at the booty too!! Perfrect for my camera or mobile...

Lastly mum bought Pops this lovely white cotton sundress, she had a very similar vintage laura ashley one which she's worn for the last two years and is now is on my sewing/crafting pile of lovely fabrics. I think she'll be thrilled.
Whatever you've been up to i hope you've had a lovely weekend xxx
