Its only blooming march!

Hi all, hope you are well this week, and didnt feel too sick after all those pancakes on tuesday?!
Id love to know if anyone is giving anything up for lent? Im giving up impulse buying-no really i am. Im not sure thats the idea of lent, but i dont care-any excuse!... I going to try really hard to live buy the 'do i really need it, do i have room for it, can i afford it?' mantra.
The new house rule is one thing in, one thing out, so, when i buy something new i WILL get rid of something old. I'll keep you posted on progress.
It kind of only just dawned on me, its the 10th of March today, the 10TH OF MARCH, that means we're almost a 3rd of the way through the third month of the year, already.
HOW *DID* that happen?!
Im mean, im ticking off the weeks(for obvious reasons)and even i hadnt really clocked
that we're whizzing through the year at the speed of light! NEXT MONTH im having a baby!!!

The girls have been really busy with school projects lately and we seem to just be rolling from one week into the next without looking back. I seem to have lists all over the place, lists of 'to buy' things for baby, lists of 'to do' jobs for Mr P in readiness for baby, dates in the diary, parents evening, car work, etc etc.
This week has been a particularly crazy one. On saturday morning my step-mum and dad arrived in their old clothes ready to overhaul the upstairs landing and nursery.
I decided i wanted it all just painted white. We get lots of light in baby's room, and lots of light in the girls room, but none in between so i though keeping it all white would improve things, and boy does it look good.
This week my mum and i have continued where they left off.
Ive learnt alot about painting this week, tip one would be to buy dulux-we started out with a giant tub of crown paint which was on offer in B&Q, BIG mistake, dad and i took it back and got some dulux one coat instead as the cheap crown didnt even cover the palest blue walls after 3(agonising) coats!!
Same with the woodwork, own brand(which was still expensive)was no where near the same quality as the dulux eggshell i went back for, it looks beautiful and has a great finish. We also invested in some good brushes which made all the difference.

Here i am in the uncarpeted nursery before we started painting yesterday.
I was thinking, wow, in about seven weeks i'll be taking in this view with a tiny person in my arms, instead of in my belly, explaining where our home lies on this beautiful farm, and all the great places to play in the summer, or read a book or have a picnic under a secret tree.

This is the view out of the window and to the left, out across the garden, and into the field beyond.
And straight ahead, you'll recognise the oak tree from lots of other photos on here..
Cant wait to get that grass cut!
Im sure i'll be introducing baby to more of these fellas...what a handsome chap.

So, ive certainly been making the most of this energy im currently taking ownership of, but i know it will be short lived and will soon diminish...so when i have to stop and just sit on the front patio and gaze out with a cuppa in hand, feeling the sun on my face i'll be admiring beauties such as these which are all bursting into life right now im my front border.

This was me yesterday, forgive the bad hair, it wasnt a morning when i could be bothered to blow dry my hair and i hadnt actually realised how badly i need some highlights!

Bump hasnt made a huge amount of progress since i was last photographed, but here it is at nearly 33 weeks!

Outfit details are as follows:
Pumps-Next
Jeans-H&M maternity
Pink sweater-GAP maternity
Scarf-Cath Kidston
*Smug look*-all mine(im a happy lady right now!)

Ive got an exciting day coming up on sunday..watch this space!

Special indulgence

So today, i indulged myself in something special....i've had a CK carrier bag sat at the end of my bed with this special purchase sat in it since the week before Christmas. Do you do what i do and even though your purchase is for you-you ask for it to be gift wrapped?-its not just me right?
Love love love the pretty tissue paper and bag and sticker!

More wrapping...have you guessed yet?..

Hmmm...looks tiny doesnt it?...weeell..

And here we have it-one hospital bag!!...Now, dont get me wrong, i am only(nearly) 27 weeks but im the sort of person who has to have things organised...i need to be able to see things, to touch them, to feel 'right'. And i am going for the hat-trick and praying for a 3rd homebirth, but, BUT what if i do need to transfer...well, a tesco carrier wont cut it will it?!

So, i purchased the bath flowers foldaway holiday bag in the sale, a great bargain, plus i love it, the pattern, size, colour, the fact its waterproof inside?!

I then started on the special bit, the selecting. I 'selected' four sleepsuits(white)four vests(white)four muslin squares(white) and the most beautiful(white)hand knitted cardigan, completed and given to me just last week by a very thoughtful work colleague. I was truly touched and cried-there and then, in my seat!
Ive also added my beautiful knitted mamas and papas blanket...ive had it for ages now-my mum bought it for me as although she can crochet-i just fell in love with it...i'll take it to bed with me a few times in the run up to d-day so it has my smell on it.
Oh and then there's the obligatory nappies and wipes...and some 'other' stuff, which i wont bore you with.!

Ah...and relax.
Im content now.
Love Kirsty

Snow ho ho!

Now, today, we are mainly indoors enjoying this sort of thing BUT, yesterday was a whole different ballgame!
We got the beautiful deep, powdery snow i had been hankering over. That which, it seemed, everyone but us had received. I opened the curtains and told mr p, it was a 'wonderful winter wonderland outside!'..he laughed and turned back over!
Want to see what it looks like round here right now?..

My garden and home...

Charlie, our nephew enjoying the snow?(not for long!)

This was early yesterday morning, you know when its still, and grey and quiet out? Makes it hard to take photos but i wouldnt miss the opportunity of soaking up the atmosphere..

AH! How cute does charlie look?!

We decided we would try and make a snowman with our family from next door, but, the snow was SO powdery that the kids got very frustrated and left the mummy's to make him while they trudged and ran up and down the chalk hills...This is my looking-erm-well, not very stylish but doing my best to keep warm as it was so bloody freezing!!

Ted the bear seemed to LOVE the snow and didnt actually want to come in. He thawed in front of the fire for a few hours when we got in.

And murphy, well, he just wanted to dig through the snow for whatever had burrowed underneath it!

The harvested got a sprinkling! Doesn't that lime green look striking in the snow?!

So, that was yesterday, and today, we're staying in the warm. Its too icy to drive anywhere and before we all get cabin fever we're going to do a bit of crafting...can you tell what it is yet??

Roo, being quiet for 5 minutes on her DS while mummy sorts the house before we get busy with the PVA!
But not all of us are snuggled indoors! Hermione has spent a fair while outside these last couple of days, here she is being nosey as she has spotted me opening the window to 'feel' if its snowing again!
But now she's home with her mama, cuddling, nosing, and most importantly-keeping warm by the radiator in the lounge, the fire just isnt giving enough heat off today!

The girls and i are quite happily sat here munching jammy dodgers and cheese toasties(in that order) and i think someone very tiny is enjoying all the comfort food, as i get a few 'thanks mum' kicks after every meal!!...

But having one of these stretching everything the wrong way kinda makes it hard to dress well in this weather.
SO, not wanting to resort to one of Mr Ps's old fleeces i headed to GAP and selected this beautiful poncho style maternity sweater to see me through the next few months, and i love it already!!

Bye for now...be safe in the snow xxx

We're very excited, but ive been suffering quite a bit with morning sickness so have taken some time out to rest and recover as much as possible. I'll pop back as often as possible to say 'hi' and check in on you all..here i am with my little 'bump'...
